The Nordic Culture Point library at Kajsaniemigatan 9 in Helsinki is the only specialist Nordic library in Finland. We have fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature, and magazines in all the Nordic languages. Here you can read Nordic newspapers, sit down and work, or flick through the children’s books in our cosy book grotto together with your little ones.
We also offer our clients to use PressReader, where you can read hundreds of Nordic newspapers and magazines. It works on your computer, tablet or phone, either on the PressReader website or in the app. You can read newspapers for three days (72h) after your device was last connected to our library Wifi.

Is an important work missing from our library? Give us your suggestion in the field below and send it to us! We renew our range according to what’s possible and our customers’ wishes. Unfortunately, we cannot fulfil every request.
Events and group activities
The library regularly hosts literary events such as book circles, discussions, language cafés, and author events. You can read more about them on our Events page.
We organise programmes for daycare and school groups in Helsinki and throughout Finland. You can find more information on the page For teachers.
The Nordic book worm
The Nordic bookworm produces educational support material for picture books from all the Nordic countries, free of charge, and in all the Nordic languages. The material can be used freely as a discussion opener for conversations about books with children at school, in the library, and on the sofa at home.
