Art, culture and design in social and built environments are growing in importance as agents of change in the climate crisis, both on a societal level and in relation to sustainable lifestyles.

In this discussion, arranged during the UN climate negotiations (COP26) in Glasgow, visions and examples from the Nordic region and beyond highlight the significance and potential of arts in a society that needs to change.

Panelists

  • Taru Elfving (FI) – Curator and writer on art and ecology, founding director of Contemporary Art Archipelago (CAA)
  • Rosanna Lewis (UK) Lead of British Council’s Culture and Development agenda
  • Emma Turkki (DK) Denmark’s youth delegate to the UN climate negotiations in Glasgow
The discussion is moderated by Daniel Urey (SE), co-founder of the LABLAB thinktank.
The event is arranged as part of the Nordic Talks discussion series, and is one of many climate-related events that take place at the Nordic COP26 Hub in Helsinki between 5 and 12 November.
