This year’s third, and final, application round for NORDBUK’s grant programme has now been decided. The programme, which focuses on projects which involves children and young people who are interested in culture, politics and social issues, has received 22 applications, of which 11 were granted support. In total, 223 600 euros will be allocated.

During the summer of 2017, the Danish Red Cross hosted a workshop where Nordic youth could participate in a leadership course focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”). What the organizers realized during this workshop was that there was a lack of awareness about SDGs and how to create the necessary conditions for putting these issues on local and global agendas. This is why the Danish Red Cross decided to apply for a grant from NORDBUK, which they will now use to hold a number of meetings and workshops for young people with an interest in SDGs. One of the organization’s digital platforms for these issues can be accessed via this link.

The Nordic Youth Circus Meeting is a meeting place for the new generation of Nordic circus performers, who come from circus schools in Finland, Norway and Sweden. Through workshops, discussions and practical work, the organizers expect that the participating young people will discover and strengthen their intercultural ties with each other, gain self-confidence and develop their ability to take responsibility within a group. The young people themselves will be able to evaluate the project throughout the process and express these views through social media. More information about the project will eventually appear on this site (in Finnish).

NORDBUK’s grant programme supports projects involving children and young people and aims to strengthen their organisation, influence and participation in political, cultural, and social work, and to strengthen a Nordic identity among children and young people.

The next application deadline is 01.02.2018, at 15:59 Finnish time. You can apply to the program as of 01.01.2018.
