Worst scenario. Four artists from Greenland.

Worst scenario. Four artists from Greenland was exhibited at Lunds konsthall with support from Culture and art programme during spring 2021. The exhibition presented artworks by Pia Arke, Jessie Kleemann, Julie Edel Hardenberg and Elisabeth Heilmann Blind.

The exhibition catalogue, artist presentations and documentation from the exhibition can be found here.

The still image is from the documentation of performance Arkhticós Doloros from 19th of July 2019, when Jessie Kleemann travelled by helicopter to the melting waters of glacier Sermeq Kujalleq in Western Greenland. The documentation of Arkhticós Doloros mediates the horror of a direct contact with climate crisis.

A recurring theme in both Pia Arkes and Julie Edel Hardenbergs art is postcolonialism.

Elisabeth Heilmann Blind has worked with interpretations of precolonial inuitic masque dance tradition, uaajeerneq. A film documentation of her dance performance Angerlarsimaffeqanngitsoq/Homeless (2019, 46 min.) can be found here.
