Why are networks important? Discussion about the importance of networks within the field of culture
Kaisaniemenkatu 9, Helsinki, Suomi
How can Network Funding add value for practitioners of art and culture in the Nordic and Baltic regions? At what point does the network have value in its own right that elevates artistic activity? How do long-term and short-term network funding support different artistic purposes?
In the autumn of 2018, Associate Professor Donatella De Paoli (BI Norwegian Business School) and Professor Lene Foss (University of Tromsø) undertook a qualitative analysis of network funding for professional artists and cultural practitioners in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Now that the report has been finalised, Donatella De Paoli will present the report and its key findings. The importance of networks for cultural stakeholders will also be discussed at the event.
The event will be held in English.
Network funding forms part of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme, administered by Nordic Culture Point. The purpose of the programme is to strengthen artistic and cultural co-operation in the Nordic and Baltic regions. The programme focuses on increasing the exchange of knowledge, contacts, presence, and interest in Nordic and Baltic art and culture.
