Många skandinaver känner skuld i en värld där kontrasten mellan rik och fattig, trygg och utsatt, lycklig och olycklig är så stor. Hur fungerar dessa skuldkänslor? Hur förhåller de sig till andra känslor som skam, solidaritet och ansvar?

Elisabeth Oxfeldt (Ph.d.) från Oslo universitet diskuterar dessa frågor genom analyser av nordisk film, TV och litteratur.

Elisabeth Oxfeldt leder forskningsprojektet Skandinaviske fortellinger om skyld og privilegier i en globaliseringstid (ScanGuilt) vid Oslo universitet. Hennes tes är att många skandinaver känner skuld i en värld där kontrasten mellan rik och fattig, trygg och utsatt, lycklig och olycklig är så stor. Tanken att de egna privilegierna är uppnådd på bekostnad av andra, som barnarbetskraften inom klädindustrin, gör denna känsla mycket konkret.
