Nordic Language Café

""

In Nordic Culture Point’s Language Cafés, you have the opportunity to practise Nordic languages. You can practise Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Icelandic in an informal and relaxed setting, alongside native speakers of these languages.

Both beginners and more advanced speakers are welcome. Admission is free, and we will provide refreshments!

How the Language Café works:

The Language Café is hosted at the Nordic Culture Point library, located at Kaisaniemenkatu 9, Helsinki.

Each language (Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Icelandic) has its own table marked with the country’s flag. At each table, you will find a native speaker of the language.

The native speaker leads the discussion, and the topics are chosen together with the participants. As a participant, you can be as active in the discussion as you wish.

You are free to come and go as you please during the event, and you can choose whether you want to practice one or several Nordic languages.

Please note that the event takes place between 17:00 and 19:00 Finnish time (UTC+3).

The Nordic Language Café will be held at the Nordic Culture Point library during the spring term on Wednesdays 7 February, 6 March, 3 April and 15 May.
