In partnership with the international literature festival LiteratureXchange, held in Aarhus, Denmark, we will be streaming a live broadcast of the conference titled “Kan litteraturen redde klimaet?” at our library on Friday, 9th June, from 11:30 to 16 Finnish time.

What role can literature play in our understanding of the climate crisis? Can literature take on the role of an activist? Do we envision the future as utopian or rather dystopian? These questions will be at the centre of this international conference, focusing on climate issues and literature.

Participants at the conference will be authors Johanna Sinisalo, Maja Lunde, Jessie Kleemann, Carsten Jensen, Silja E.K. Henderson, as well as researchers Gregers Andersen and Matthias Stephan.

You can find more information about the conference and the full program here (in Danish).

Nordic Culture Point will live stream the conference at our Kaisaniemi location on Friday, 9th June. Coffee will be served.

Nordic Culture Point has been granted the EcoCompass environmental certificate. We’re making every endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint, which is why all travel within the organisation is carefully planned. Use public transport when you visit us, and you’ll contribute to a greener cultural scene, too!
