The series ”Art Online” continues with the fifth episode and a focus on the role of the artist in the increasing digitalisation of the art scene. Art critic and curator Pontus Kyander will discuss the topic together with the artists Jonas Lund and Juha van Ingen.

What’s the impact of the digital tools on contemporary art and how do they affect the concept of art and the actual art practice? Is the digitalisation giving rise to completely new opportunities, ideas, purposes and expressions? And are there any new and progressive online platforms that are equally important for building a career as the traditional physical institutions?

Jonas Lund is a swedish artist who works in a wide range of media. He investigates the latest issues generated by the increasing digitalisation of contemporary society like authorship, participation and distribution of agency. At the same time, Lund questions the mechanisms of the art world; he challenges the production process, authoritative power and art market practices. Amongst his many soloshows are the König Galerie, Berlin (2021), The Photographers’ Gallery (2019) and the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London (2016) and his works has also been part of numerous group exhibitions including at Centre Pompidou, Paris and Schinkel Pavillon, Berlin.
