Nordic Match: Empowering design in meetings between cultures

How do you tie together ideals as integration, equality and visibility of vulnerable groups and new citizens with practical, down-to-earth proposals? How can social design open doors to empowering meetings between cultures?
At this breakfast event you will get to meet
- Julia Zachemba, network facilitator and service designer from Sweden, works with the motto “always try to find other doors when one is locked. Analyzing, ideating and prototyping different solutions, while the focus is on contextual thinking, empathy and joy.”
- Natalia Villaman, cultural and multicultural facilitator and Master’s student in environment studies at the Aalto University: “I have a training as Cultural and Intercultural Mediator, as well as numerous courses such as human rights, international refugee law, environmental law, sustainable development.
- Leiry Seron, product designer from Iceland. “I am passionate about elevating design and using it as a transformative tool. Sensing the world, questioning borders and challenging production and value systems.
The presentations will be followed by an open discussion, where the audience will be invited to join in and comment the ideas put forward or contribute with their own.
Food for thoughts guaranteed, also in the shape of a light breakfast.
