The Geofood project started June 2014 and it will run until June 2016, financed by Kreanord program for developing creative indutries in connection with local food.
Partners of the project are all Geoparks recognized by UNESCO: " Global Geoparks (GGN) are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development. GEOfood aims to valorise local food as unique Geopark experience.
The GEOfood is investigating local food offers and finalises the SMEs experiences in combining GEOmenus served in a chain of selected restaurants.
The GEOmenus combined with the local activities increasing the competitiveness of the Geopark´s tourism offer. Food and tourism will be linked together for the valorisation of the geological, cultural, natural heritage.
Common quality standard have been defined for the GEOfood brand that will be promoted through the GGN channels.
