Apply funding for Agenda 2030 project
20.08.2018

NORDBUK is cooperating with Generation 2030, which means that an extra 600.000 DKK (approx. 80 000 EUR) are to be distributed by the NORDBUK Grant Programme until the end of year 2020. A third of the funds are already available to apply in the upcoming round and are set aside with the specific purpose of supporting projects that can boost the Nordic Region to reach the goals of Agenda 2030.
Turið Johannessen, the advisor for the NORDBUK Grant Programme, elaborates:
“Anyone that has an idea relating to sustainable development is welcome to apply for the extra funding if they meet the NORDBUK Grant Programme criteria and if the focus is either on the agenda as a whole, or if it specifically contributes to Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.”
What should applicants be especially looking out for?
“If you look at the criteria, the projects that will most likely rise to the top are the ones where the success relies on the active involvement of children and young people in working together on reaching the sustainable development goals in the Nordic Region.”
She goes on to say that this would match the overarching objective of Generation 2030, which is to encourage action and make better use of knowledge and dialogue to speed up the progress.
Could you give an example of a project that could be supported?
“Anything that engages young people and encourages them to create and develop ideas or gives them the courage to change patterns that are currently working against the goals in the agenda. If this is done by methods that are youth-led or where children are cooperating and expected to instruct each other – that’s something that NORDBUK and Generation 2030 hope to support.”
Anything else you want the readers to know?
“Get to know the criteria and if you have any trouble, you are always welcome to get in touch. We can’t guarantee it will lead to a grant, but we can give good advice and direction.”
