Home Apply for funding How to apply Create a good budget

Create a good budget

A well-thought-out and strong budget is an important factor when your application is reviewed.

Think through and consider what costs the project will have and how you can fund it. Also consider where you could get co-financing for the project. Present the costs clearly according to different categories. The budget template can be edited in line with the needs of the project.

Revenue and expenditure must balance and the totals must match. The budget must be submitted in euro. You can plan your budget using the primary currency of the project and then convert to euro in accordance with the exchange rate on the day of conversion.

In-kind funding

In-kind funding can be included as part of co-financing. This can relate to goods, services or work up to the amount of a realistic estimated value. The budgeted in-kind sum must be available in the same form and up to the same value on both the revenue and expenditure side of the budget.

Estimate the value of the contribution and in the text field of the budget annex describe what it is relates to and how you have calculated the sum. A good tip is to take a look at salary recommendations for different artistic fields in the relevant countries.

Example: Project X organises a seminar. A partner allows their auditorium to be used for the event and volunteers help prepare the premises for the seminar. In the budget, the rental expense and the value of the number of working hours are presented both as revenue and expenditure, even if a specific sum of money is not actually involved.
