To investigate Arctic imagery and the climate crisis, we move between artistic affinities, scientific disciplines to craft an intervention into imaginaries of the Arctic. As a consequence of this practice, we will learn from those who live in the changing Arctic and combine their experiences with knowledge from researchers studying climate changes in the Disko Bay. With and through the interaction with locals, the intention is also to broaden our own understanding of the Arctic.

We have five objectives with the workshop:
– team building (in order to be able to carry on with online meeting)
– strategic planning (fundraising and international positioning of journal)
– development of experimental publication formats (the ongoing and successful audio paper and future experimental essays)
– publication planning (which issues should we have, who should we collaborate with?)
– how to integrate questions of sustainability in Seismograf Peer’s profile

– Empowerment of the second-generation immigrants from Eastern Europe
– Creating a networking platform for young creatives
– Documenting a cultural shift in the Nordics as the societies become more diverse than ever
– Improving the visibility of the otherwise invisible group of people in Nordic societies
– Generational experience for Eastern European immigrants – funding a creative platform for first and second generation immigrants

A project by the newly established North Atlantic Islands Dance Network: Facilitating collaborative research and sharing of practises between dance artists connected to Greenland, Iceland and The Faroe Islands. The key objectives are not to produce but rather to research, spark creativity, build and strengthen the dance community in the North Atlantic Island regions. Other important key objectives are resource sharing, round table conversations and connecting to local institutions.

Målet er å levendegjøre og tilgjengeliggjøre felles, skandinavisk kulturarv for et større publikum. Konsertforestilling er en formidlingsform som ofte taler godt også til yngre mennesker. Vi ønsker å nå ungdommer med prosjektet. Vi vil også sette fokus på kvinners liv i skandinavisk renessanse og barokk. Historiske kvinner har tradisjonelt blitt mindre omtalt enn menn, selv om de levde svært spennende liv. Prosjektets overordnede mål er å formidle skandinavisk musikkarv og kvinnehistorie.

The goal is to shake the masculine hegemony of heroism in society, in order to embrace a wider and healthier range of heroic characteristics that are beneficial for society as a whole and future generations. While discussing femininity and masculinity the company is exploring characteristics, gender oppression and gender representations, regardless of sex.

Festivalens ambition er at fungere som et nordisk kulturmøde, hvis aktiviteter motiverer til gensidig kulturudveksling og bidrager til et levende og forbundet litteraturmiljø på tværs af Norden. Festivalen vil synliggøre den nordiske litteratur og bidrage til, at vi fortsat orienterer os mod den nordiske litteraturscene – at vi møder den, diskuterer den, mærker dens potentialer og nybrud og bliver ved med at forny det fællesskab, vi har i kraft af de sprog og den historie og kultur, vi deler.

Prosjektets sentrale målsetting er å forene nordiske musikere som har til felles at de ønsker å sette fokus på repertoar av kvinnelige komponister. Ved å løfte kvinnelige komponister fram i lyset, håper vi at også lærebøker og institusjoner etter hvert oppdateres med de faktiske kunnskapene vi har om kvinnelige komponister opp gjennom historien, og at repertoar av kvinnelige komponister får sin naturlige plass på repertoarlistene.

1) To challenge and expand traditional narratives and perceptions of witches by reinterpreting the witch archetype in contemporary contexts.
2) To examine the concept of Otherness, especially broader issues of identity and societal norms.
3) To explore the intersection of gender and power in the context of the witch archetype.
4) To foster critical dialogue about societal norms, empowerment, and the reclamation of narratives related to Otherness and gender.
5) To encourage artistic innovation.

How can Nordic arts amplify awareness of human-environment interplay, fostering collaboration for sustainability? Resonans visibilizes our creative landscape to illuminate the environment’s significance in our creative processes. Through captivating mediums and data, it fosters cross-cultural collaboration, encouraging discourse on environmental challenges and eco-consciousness.

How do our cities sound? What impact does the soundscape have on our bodies and minds? When cities are becoming more densified, the public spaces left need to contain more functions. What happens when these personal experiences connect and adapt to the city’s soundscapes and public spaces? Our practice-based research revolves around public places for recreation through context- and site-specific public artworks, installation and soundworks, and how to create real or imaginary PUBLIC RETREATs.

Vårt främsta mål är att lyfta obetalt kvinnligt arbete samt nyansera bilden av hushållsarbete och kvinnlighet. Vi har också som mål att ge plats åt äldre kvinnliga dansare på scen. Vi ser projektet som en kompetensutveckling för samtliga medverkande och ett sätt för oss att utvidga våra nätverk.

The festival is a platform for emerging artists and a space for them to share their work. It is also a supportive space for artistic experimentation and risk taking. The project brings together artists with the main aim of creating long lasting networks, allowing artists to connect between countries and art disciplines. Long term, we hope the festival will happen biannually and visit all Nordic countries, presenting the rich and diverse variety of contemporary art in the Nordic countries.

Projektet fokuserer på at forbedre trivsel og mental sundhed i de formativt unge år samt inspirere folk til at udforske deres sanser ved hjælp af lys, kropsbevægelse, tekstiler og lyd. Holdet er stærkt motiverede til at bidrage med kunsten som løsning på de udfordringer, vi ser hos unge i Norden og som følge af det stigende samfundspres.

Amid climate change, Nordic biodiversity (especially Boreal forests) is undergoing significant changes, with huge consequences for people living in the region.

We explore this via multi-national perspectives, work with non-human species in landscapes & with local communities, raising awareness & engaging audiences to positively determine the planet’s future.

Climate change is often viewed scientifically; We explore how psychological, spiritual & indigenous perspectives are equally vital.

The key objectives of the project are to bring together Nordic and UK artists and producers to develop a new innovative ways to present dance and opera in an experimental way where lines between artist are blurred and they take on different roles pushing the boundaries of traditional opera. The project aims to reach new audiences by presenting opera to dancers and dance to classical musicians in a modern way including AV visuals and tech to bring closer to a younger, more diverse audience.

Projektet är upptaget med det tillstånd av konflikt människor emellan som frågan genererar, och har ingen ambition att propagera för någon särskild sida av konflikten. Trots att frågan är kontroversiell i många kontexter finns det ingen ambition att provocera eller propagera. Det kontroversiella ligger i att lyfta frågan, att titta på den utifrån flera olika synvinklar och att inte föreslå en lösning. Den centrala målsättningen är att genom konst skapa ett rum där frågan kan få existera.

The project aims to:
– bring attention to the impact of migration on the individual’s bodies
– provide the workshop’s participants and our collaborators chances to share and connect through artistic processes
– address questions of communication, integration, and migration in a poetic, complex, and multifaceted way, fostering critical thinking 


– use embodied experiences, rather than favoring only intellectual and analytical point of view, to provide a new and fresh perspective on the matter.

I Gleipnir bruker me myten om Fenrirulven til å betre forstå vår indre kamp mellom lidenskap og grådigheit. Koreografisk vil me spela på rytmisk repetisjon i endring over tid med bruk av sentrifugale krefter som beveger fysisk og emosjonelt. Den kunstnarlege ambisjonen er å bruke dans og sirkus til visuelle metaforar for psykoanalytiske tolkingar av norrøn mytologi. Eit viktig premiss for prosjektet er at kreativiteten ligg i menneskekroppen og ikkje i det materialistiske.

To empower deaf people and their artistic expression;
To dispel myths that deaf people have no relationship with music and cannot create or perform musical works;
To reduce the dominance of the hearing person in creative processes;
To exchange knowledge with Deaf artists living in the Nordic countries;
To create a musical stage programme that can be enjoyed by deaf people;
To introduce Deaf culture to hearing people;
To meet the Deaf community’s need for original cultural events in Lithuania.

Project Shiraz works through the frame of this festival to propose a space with the
potential of engendering new frames and forms of engagement with dance and choreography. What would a dance
performance be when it proposes itself as a festival? What is the experience of dance and choreography when the piece
actively aims to shape and reshape the frames through which it is being watched and experienced within its temporality?

To create an artistic piece with environmental education about the state of the eel and the seas through beauty, peace and wonder.

Styrke samisk institusjonelt samarbeid i Norden, styrke sørsamisk, lulesamisk og nordsamisk språk og kultur i Finland, Norge og Sverige, synliggjøre de nye digitale teknologier og vise hvordan disse har styrket og løftet samisk museumssamarbeid, tiltrekke en bredere oppmerksomhet i Norden og internasjonalt til repatriering av samisk kulturarv, og tydeliggjøre behovet for forsoningsarbeidet mellom samiske og europeiske museer.

The Network’s common objectives include:
– Enabling Nordic audiences to discover films for children and youth produced in the region
through streaming, festival screenings, and film literacy initiatives.
– Facilitating debates about the status and future of children’s media in the Nordics within the industry of the Nordic regions, at designated NoJSe Network industry events.
– Sharing knowledge between the festivals in the network and the European children and youth media industry as a whole.

Att skapa arenor för idéutbyte, skills-sharing och utveckling inom området samtida skulpturalt träarbete för yrkesverksamma konstnärer. Projektet relaterar till nordisk/baltisk tradition av träskulptur, men med fokus på samtidens uttryck och materialets aktualitet. Fokus ligger på unika verk med utgångspunkt i trähantverk som metod.

Att skapa mötesplatser för det unika träarbetet, dess utövare och en bred publik genom seminarier, utställningar, performance, publikationer och kursverksamhet.

Kulturföreningen Katrina inledde sin verksamhet med att uppföra Musikteatern Katrina 2000 i Helsingfors (kulturhuvudstad). År 2024 fyller Kulturföreningen 25 år. Det vill vi manifestera med en ny uppsättning ”Katrina – en musikteater”. En version i vilken Katrina är ett subjekt och inget offer. År 2024 skulle kompositören Jack Matsson fylla 70 år ifall han inte gått bort alltför tidigt. År 2026 är ett Sally Salminen år (1906-1976). Romanen Katrina utkom 1936. En ”revival” av Katrina är inne.

– Create a yet not existing generational portrait of a group of younger artists based in the Nordics.
– Present a wider audience in North America, Denmark, and Iceland with new insights to artistic practices.
– Build a new regional network between arts professionals and artists.
– Engage a wider Nordic audience, artists and decision makers in talks and debates.
– Produce a lasting testament of the future generation of artists and thinkers across the Nordics.

The project explores artistic dialogue as a meeting place, and a place for collegial re/learning. While creating an ambitious artistic outcome, it aims to open space for artists from different backgrounds (poetry, visual arts, theater, music) to network and share their knowledge. Through the presentations, events and final performances, the project makes experimental artistic practices accessible for larger audiences.

The goal is to deepen the relationships with artists in the Nordic region and explore the unpredictable arctic weather. The workshop aims to engage teenagers in creative activities that explore emotions in relation to climate change. Our aim in the artistic practice is to use the method of transformative play as a catalyst for transformation and hope. The performance aims to to draw parallels between the two stories’ common origin story and environmental concerns of the past and present.

Projektet består av tre arbetsgrupper: det konstnärliga teamet (regi, scenografi, musik, etc) som består av en medlem från respektive part, ensemblen som består av två medlemmar från respektive part och en styrgrupp som består av en projektledare från respektive part. Dramatikern intervjuar såväl hela ensemblen, med alltså medlemmar från samtliga internationella partners, men också målgruppen barn från respektive lokalsamhälle. Föreställningen repeteras gemensamt och spelas i alla länder.

The project is development of a board game that communicates Greenlandic mythology. The game is currently on a conceptual level, which is why the project will be about expanding the part about Greenlandic mythology, and testing the game with the target group, Greenlandic children and their family.

The project’s essence is to create a bustling platform at this year’s festival for Nordic makers and artists in the field of classical vocal music. They will share their performances, teachings and experience with each other and will be invited to network and attend each other events.

Two separate exhibition spaces in two countries, and a third layer of VR/AR environments, create a dialogue via art tying together Finnish and Swedish people. Artists as catalysts in community engaged street art create separated diptychs, demanding the viewer to visit both spaces in both countries.

”An unconventional striptease” is a poetic ode to cinematic romance. Performers Ian Yves Ancheta and Iannes Bruylant present an intimate portrait of a relationship between two men in an attempt to rewrite the narrative of gay romantic cinema.

Sequences XI is the central art festival in Reykjavik that explores new perspectives and ways of seeing as we are currently witnessing significant historical turns in terms of geopolitics and climate change. The festival will have a big emphasis on the artists from the Nordic and Baltic region.

Samarbejde med tre samtidsklassiske ensembler fra Finland, Island og Danmark i forbindelse med ISCM – WORLD (NEW) MUSIC DAYS FESTIVAL på Færøerne, sommeren 2024.

KRATT festival is a Nordic-Baltic cooperation project that brings together children and young people aged 10-20 from all over the region to explore classical music and music theatre by participating and collaborating in workshops, ensembles and orchestras.

Til festivalen er der offentlige koncerter med mange uropførelser; en konference; oplæg og workshops; netværksaktiviteter. Førende nordiske og internationale ensembler, komponister og andre fagfolk medvirker

Southnord är en nyetablerad plattform vars mål är att göra plats för och lyfta fram det konstnärliga skapandet av afro-nordiska kreatörer med fokus på de visuella konstarterna. Southnord planerar en konstfesttriennal med konstnärer från Sverige, Danmark, Norge, Finland och Island.

En publikumsinddragende totalinstallation, som inviterer de besøgende til at sanse Nordens jord inde og ude. Udstillingssteder: Munkeruphus (DK), Norsk Billerhoggerforening (NO) og Malmø Kunstmuseum (SE).

Søsterskap highlights women photographers’ strong role over several generations in the Nordic countries. The exhibition brings together photographers based in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Søsterskap explores the welfare state from a perspective of intersectional feminism.

The project unites artist-run film labs and cultural institutions that work with expanded cinematic art practices providing a space for creation, education and circulation of analog film art in Nordic region and beyond.

«Witch Club Satan: Bloodmother» is a feminist, black metal performance mixing theater and music in a brutal, hopeful and extreme expression. The new performance by Lost and Found productions is drawing upon the universe of Witch Club Satan, and will be presented in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Vi vil sette fokus på den samiske poesien, samt poetiske sjangere formidlet av flerkulturelle forfattere fra Norden. Vi skal undersøke hvilken ulike motstandsstrategier som preger denne diktningen, og på hvilken måte bidrar den til å utvikle de nordiske språkene, og hva det vil si og være nordisk.

GG|TT is a 5-day workshop and public event in Rendalen, Norway, where we use food making and sharing meals, as a way to learn from vulnerable groups and their knowledge systems, making collective strategies that promote actions and public policies for the preservation of our socio-ecosystems.

Om möjligheterna att arbeta med hållbarhet inom scenkonsten. Vilka konkreta verktyg har scenkonstnärer och teatrar till sitt förfogande idag och hur kan ett strategiskt hållbarhetsarbete läggas upp? Att utforska dilemmat att vara både konstnär och hållbarhetsmedveten i en konstnärlig process.

I samarbejde med Sápmi Pride (FI), Garmeres (NO), FRI i Troms & Finmark (NO), Barents Pride (NO) og LGBT+ Greenland (GR), vil vi gennem vidensdeling og kulturudveksling hylder den historie og styrke, der kan hentes fra oprindelige folk og de ligeværdige kønsbalancer, der har eksisteret i de kulturer

7 utvalgte kunstnere får to opphold på Kjerringøy, vår ‘23 og ‘24. De skal arbeide i og med natur og utvikle nye forhold mellom mennesker og det nordiske landskap. Det skapes et miljø der kunstnere både får inspirasjon og inspirer andre via workshop, kunstnersamtaler og foredrag.

PAV er et scenekunstprosjekt som bygger samarbeid og fellesskap i Arktis. Ti artister fra Norge, Sverige, Finland, Færøyene, Island, Grønland, Canada, Alaska og Russland møtes til en iscenesatt sangkonkurranse under Varangerfestivalen i Vadsø (NO), au 2023. Publikum deltar live og online.

ICE HOT OSLO 24 er en dansekunstplattform som presenterer nordisk dans for arrangører fra hele verden og er en møteplass for hele det nordiske dansefeltet. ICE HOT 24 arrangeres av Dansens Hus, Oslo i samarbeid med fire andre nordiske partnere, har Arktis som fokusområde og bærekraft som eget mål.

Den 3-5 juli 2023 anordnar SmåBUS (Barn- och Ungdomslitteratur Småland) för andra gången en internationell barnbokskonferens (www.smabusfestival.se), numera med temat ”Mod och sårbarhet”, på Sörängens folkhögskola i Nässjö (Småland, Sverige).

En forum och showcase för kunskapsutbyte, nätverkande och spridande av scenkonst för ung publik inom de Nordisk-Baltiska länderna. Projektet främjar ”lokala” internationella turnéer och utbyten som bevarar scenkonsten som live-händelse men samtidigt är hållbara ur ett klimatperspektiv.

Till tonerna av fredstid i europeisk krigstid ger BRAVO TOG en immersiv utomhus skidbalett. Med en koreografisk, dramatisk och “practice-based” utforskning av längdskidåkningen på rullskidors potential skapar vi en “guidad-tur-föreställning” om mänskliga mikro och makro kriser.

Copenhagen Photo Festival 2023 (CPF), in collaboration with FUTURES, is organising a two-days Meet Up around photography (June 1-2, 2023). Various events are set up so that the FUTURES talents can meet all the festival’s partners (artists, curators and professionals).

Our goal is to establish a partnership between Sisus and Fauna circus guided by director and mentor Jason Dupree. Together, we’ll build the groundwork to co-produce and co-direct a new show, bridging the experiences between all partners with the aim of establishing a long-term working partnership.

Nordiskt Ljus söker stöd för att kunna ta emot 6st residenskonstnärer att spendera 1 månad på Nordiska folkhögskolan i Kungälv sommaren 2023. I residenset ingår mat, boende, arbetslokaler, handledning och en publik visning på Nordiskt Ljus avslutande festivalhelg.

We aim to brings together performing arts professionals to discuss climate justice and equity in green transitions. The Nordic and Arctic region will be showcased through talks by some of our strongest thinkers and through an artistic programme revealing hard truths through unique artistic lenses.

En nordisk tvärvetenskaplig konferens om perspektiv på källor till samisk historia där Sanningskommissionerna, arkivarier, forskare och politiker i Norden möts under två dagar. Målet är idé- och kunskapsutbyte och att skapa engagemang för samiska arkivfrågor som kommer det samiska folket till godo.

Young Arctic Artists 2023-näyttely esittelee nuoria taiteilijoita pohjoisilta alueilta. Näyttely on esillä syksyllä 2023 Suomessa Galleria Napassa Rovaniemellä ja Ruotsin puoleisella Meänmaalla Korpilombolo Night Festin yhteydessä sekä keväällä 2024 Norjassa Terminal B -galleriassa Kirkkoniemessä.

A new production that highlights the vocal musical tradition of indigenous and ethnic groups in the northern regions. The well-known Norwegian quartet Transjoik will collaborate with indigenous artists in this production where light design and electronics will create an extra dimension.
